France January trade balance -€3.95 billion vs -€3.40 billion expected

  • Prior -€3.39 billion; revised to -€3.57 billion
The French trade deficit expanded in January as exports rose by 2.8% m/m while imports rose by 3.5% m/m. This reaffirms a continued improvement on both fronts towards pre-pandemic levels with the deficit keeping on the narrower side in recent months.
