France finance minister Bruno Le Maire on the wires

  • Says that French deficits remain too high in his view
  • Says that 2017 deficit at 2.6% is due to growth, government actions
  • Current growth forecast for 2018 is 1.7%
  • "We will give everything" to boost growth

This comes after a report by INSEE shows that public deficit from France last year came in at 2.6% of GDP vs 3.4% a year ago. Meanwhile, overall debt stood at 97% of GDP compared with 96.6% a year ago, according to the report.
