GERMANY DATA: Retail sales in Germany surprised to the downside, falling
0.3% on the month in December in real, adjusted terms, the Federal
Statistical Office reported on Monday. As a result, turnover was 1.3%
lower on the year. For 2010 as a whole, sales were up 1.2% after
sliding 3.1% in 2009.
