BERLIN (MNI) – German Economics Minister Rainer Bruederle said
Wednesday that German GDP growth this year could be above the 1.4%
forecast by the government.
Bruederle noted that the Bundesbank recently hiked its 2010 German
GDP forecast to +1.9%.
“There exists the prospect that it will be better” than +1.4%, the
Minister said, adding that the government will review its economic
forecasts only in autumn.
Earlier today, Finance Ministry spokesman Michael Offer told
reporters, “We can now look very confidently into the future.”
