BERLIN (MNI) – German total tax revenue excluding local taxes rose
16.5% on the year in March, a German finance ministry spokeswoman said
Monday, confirming a media report from earlier today.

In February, total tax revenue ex-local taxes had increased by 9.7%
on the year. For the full year, the government’s tax estimate commission
forecast in November an increase of only 1.0%.

The finance ministry is due to release its March fiscal and
economic report on Thursday at 06:00 GMT.
