Germany Ifo institute says number of people on short-time work scheme fell to 2.7 million in April

Author: Justin Low | Category: News

The figure is down another 10% as compared to March

That is somewhat of a good signal that the economy is recovering but it is still accounting for a decent chunk of the workforce, albeit that is dwindling. The above compares to the 3.7 million in September last year and 4.7 million in August last year.

Keep in mind that Ifo notes that the numbers are based on its own estimates.
