The 7-day incidence rate climbs higher to 95.6

Germany

That is up from the ~90 yesterday and continues to allude to a potentially worsening trend in the virus situation in Germany. The daily case count is keeping on the higher side for a second day running and that itself is not a good sign as well.

It seems like Germany is on the cusp of a third virus wave and steps to reopen the economy may be pushed back further into Q2 now.

Bear in mind that local authorities are trying to get the incidence rate down to 50.0 (although this figure varies quite significantly from region to region) to allow for further reopening steps but the national figure is now nearly double that.

In terms of healthcare capacity, there were 2,895 (+36) virus patients requiring intensive care as of yesterday with there being 3,526 (15%) intensive care beds still available.
