It looks like the virus situation is still not quite abating just yet

Germany

The latest jump here is the third-highest on record and keeps within the range of the last two weeks, so at least the growth pace in terms of cases isn't increasing. But at the same time, it isn't quite going down either from the relatively high base.

Active cases across the country now nears 280,000 from just below 250,000 compared to exactly one week ago. Meanwhile, another 251 deaths are reported over the past 24 hours and that brings the total tally on that front to 13,370 persons.

In terms of healthcare capacity, there are 3,561 (+41) coronavirus patients requiring intensive care as of yesterday with there being 6,225 (22%) units still available.

For some context, two weeks ago i.e. 4 November, these figures were 2,546 coronavirus patients requiring intensive care and 7,068 (25%) units still available.

Considering the circumstances, German authorities are likely to introduce tighter restrictions and extend measures into December at the meeting next week.
