It has been a month of 'lockdown light' but the virus situation in Germany has not shown signs of abating yet
The bright spot is that at least the daily case count hasn't grown exponentially during the period, with active cases across the country keeping around 290,000 still.
However, the number of deaths is continuing to pick up with another 432 deaths reported in the past day and that brings the total tally to 18,034 persons.
The past five days alone has seen 1,911 deaths reported across the country. Last week (23-29 November), Germany recorded a total of 2,101 deaths.
In terms of healthcare capacity, there are 3,980 (+23) coronavirus patients requiring intensive care as of yesterday with 5,273 (19%) intensive care beds still available.
