The number of deaths continues to keep on the higher side for now

The lower case count is somewhat encouraging as this comes after the typical low count on Mondays due to lesser testing on the weekend. It could be an early indicator that the virus situation has indeed hit a plateau and the curve is flattening further.

The number of active cases across the country now eases to ~251,400 but the number of deaths have increased to 52,990 as of the latest update above.

Looking at the trend, the case count has been somewhat easing since peaking in early January but the death count is still thereabouts for the time being:

In terms of healthcare capacity, there were 4,619 (-9) virus patients requiring intensive care as of yesterday with there being 4,808 (18%) intensive care units still available.
