The 7-day incidence rate rises further to 107.3

Germany

That is up from the ~104 seen yesterday, as the figure continues to allude to a worsening virus situation in Germany over the past two weeks. Total active cases have now climbed to ~169,100 - a little lower than yesterday, but highest since 9 February.

Keep in mind that the Monday effect i.e. lesser testing over the weekend is also at play for today's update, so we'll get a better sense of things later in the week.

In any case, if this continues, expect German authorities to tighten restrictions going into April instead of relaxing them.

In terms of healthcare capacity, there were 3,056 (+100) virus patients requiring intensive care as of yesterday with there being 4,135 (17%) intensive care beds still available.
