A bit of a lower tally on the daily case count, which is odd given that the 7-day incidence rate remains on the high side. Total active cases is seen easing slightly to ~279,400.
We'll have to see how the numbers play out in the week(s) ahead to be certain of any dramatic shift in the virus situation. However, as long as medical capacity remains stretched, it is tough for the federal government to ease restrictions going into May.
As of yesterday, there were 4,932 (+90) virus patients requiring intensive care with there being 3,343 (14%) intensive care beds still available across the country.
