BERLIN (MNI) – German federal net new borrowing this year will
amount to around E50 billion, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble
said in a newspaper interview published Sunday.
“We will [have] new debt of around E50 billion this year,”
Schaeuble told German weekly Bild am Sonntag in his first interview
after a nearly four-week stay in the hospital.
The finance ministry said last Thursday that federal net new
borrowing of E50 billion to E55 billion “seems possible” this year.
