BERLIN (MNI) – German GDP will likely grow “noticeably” in the
fourth quarter, the German economics ministry said in its latest monthly
report released Thursday.
The ministry pointed to a positive outlook both for industry and
construction.
Private consumption is seen picking up further, boosted by rising
employment and wages.
Due to the slowing of global growth, the development of the German
export sector will likely moderate, the ministry predicted.
Turning to inflation, the ministry noted that rising energy and
commodity prices will likely feed through to consumer prices over the
coming months.
