BERLIN (MNI) – German Economics Minister Philipp Roesler on
Thursday warned that the economic outlook for Germany is becoming “more
difficult.”
In a speech to parliament, Roesler noted that “everywhere in the
world, including Europe, the growth momentum is weakening.”
Growth forces need to be strengthened, the minister said, urging
the opposition to give up its blockage in the upper house of the
government’s income tax-cut bill.
The Finance Ministry said Wednesday that it expects a “temporary
growth dent” in the winter half-year. “The noticeable slowing of global
growth, especially the economic weakness in some countries of the
Eurozone, is increasingly dampening economic developments in Germany,”
it observed.
