Sunday sees the SPD congress and vote on whether to proceed with coalition talks which has been undermining the euro this week. Don't forget though that Sunday's vote isn't the end of it as the SPD have promised to give all members the chance to approve by postal ballot.

Meanwhile EURUSD steady at 1.2243 and with 15 mins to go to option expiry time it looks likely the 1.2230 defence will hold but we never say never in FX.
