Google didn't disclose breach
Google exposed the private data of hundreds of thousands of users of Google+ and opted not to disclose it, the WSJ reports.
A software glitch gave developers access to private data from 2015 through March of this year when it was discovered and fixed.
The bigger scandal might be the coverup as internal memos showed the company decided not to disclose the breach because it would trigger "immediate regulatory interest" and invite comparisons to Facebook.
At the time, the company was saying it was less vulnerable than Facebook.
The company says there was no evidence that data was misused but that it couldn't know for sure.
The story could continue to add pressure on tech.
