Corporate espionage is part of the global competitive landscape but when governments begin to support domestic industry by stealing the corporate secrets of their competitors, it’s the worst kind of protectionism.

In his latest comments Snowden said the NSA is stealing corporate secrets.

The U.S. National Security Agency is involved in industrial espionage and will grab any intelligence it can get its hands on regardless of its value to national security, former NSA contractor Edward Snowden told a German TV network.

The amount of corporate money that will be spent on anti-espionage rather than R&D in the next decade is a tragedy.
