–Press Conference On EC/ECB/IMF Mission Report Is Postponed
ATHENS (MNI) – The Greece Finance Ministry was evacuated moments
ago due to a bomb threat and police are searching the premises.
The incident has led to the postponement of a press conference by
Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou, who was scheduled to speak
about the recently completed mission of officials from the European
Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund.
The EC/ECB/IMF team, known as the “troika,” published a joint
statement earlier today saying Greece had made a “strong start” and was
on track to receive a second tranche of EMU-IMF loans totaling E9
billion.
It is not known at this time when the press conference will be
rescheduled.
