There are dozens of suspicious package reports every week in New York so I did not bother reporting on the latest, at the World Financial Center in lower Manhattan. Turns out a screener saw what looked like a grenade and called the bomb squad.Turns out it was a grenade, in fact. Well done.

UPDATE: CNBC says it was apparently a “novelty” grenade.
Word to the wise: When trying to enter a New York highrise, especially near Ground Zero, leave your fake explosives at home…
