Heads up: BOE governor Mark Carney to speak in the European afternoon

Carney will be testifying before the House of Lord's Economic Affairs Committee

He will be making statements on Brexit, inflation, and the economy during the testimony at around 1535 GMT. I wouldn't expect much of anything new to come from Carney in his appearance here. If anything else, expect it to be a repeat of the inflation report hearing last week:

• BOE's Carney: Fundamentals of the UK economy are sound
• BOE's Carney: Likely that uncertainty about final form of Brexit will persist past 29 March
• BOE's Carney: Does not think that there will be a global recession
• BOE's Carney: There is a series of imbalances in the Chinese economy
