The bird flu story in China is worth keeping an eye on. The South China Morning Post is carrying a story this morning on a four year old son of a man infected with the new flu strain having also contracted the virus:
Shandong province’s health department says there is no evidence of human-to-human transmission, and that the boy is in stable condition at a hospital.
- The H7N9 virus has infected 126 people in China,
- 23 deaths
- No evidence so far it can spread easily among people
- Infections are believed to be caused by contact with sick birds
