In Ireland. No, really.

Just as the US property bubble has shown signs of stabilizing despite broad economic sluggishness, Ireland saw its first rise in home prices in five years, the WSJ reports.

However modest, the rise in house prices in May will be welcome news for the government as it tries to steer the economy back to sustained growth. It is hoping that an end to home-price declines would help boost confidence and persuade consumers to start increasing their spending.
