A second round of $1,200 checks are in order based on the latest proposal
GOP lawmakers outlined their latest proposal overnight here, but the big question will be how quickly can they reach an agreement with the Democrats from hereon.
As things stand, stimulus checks aren't so much of the issue but instead it is more that both sides are finding it tough to agree on stuff like unemployment benefits in particular.
That may hinder GOP lawmakers' plans to try and seal everything before 31 July, when existing stimulus measures begin to expire. Just be mindful that even if a legislation is finalised, it could still take weeks before Americans "reap the rewards" from this.
As such, the next few weeks is going to be interesting to see how much the average US household can cope without additional government money in the short-term.
