Data for South Korea was out earlier,
- April exports -2.0% y/y (Reuters poll ha the median consensus at -5.0%)
- imports +2.4 % y/y (Reuters poll +0.3%)
This was the 5th consecutive month of falling exports, but on the bright side it wasn't as bad as expected. The statisticians noted that exports would actually have risen if memory chips were excluded (on an unrelated note for those following the soccer, Spurs would have won if Ajax had not scored more goals than them).
Data from SK has been on the bad side, today's numbers, being not as bad as expected, could be taken as a positive as far as it goes.
