The famous 35-hour French work week is a myth. According to a labor ministry report, French workers clock an average of 39.5 hours/week compared to the EU average of 40.3. The Brits can evidently work from the pub because they’re putting in 42.4 hours.
“This is the problem of France. It’s cut in half. Half the French are working like madmen to make up for the other half who stick to their hours,” said Gerard Dussillol, an investment adviser and author of a 2012 book on France’s economy.
I have a feeling that’s true in a lot of places.
Anyway, if USD/JPY keeps rallying like today, the bulls will soon be working a zero-hour work week.
