  • rising risk appetite dented investor demand for gold
  • US dollar was also stronger, while yields on US bonds were higher
  • renewed optimism has tempered inflows into gold-backed ETFs
  • The largest fund, SPDR Gold Shares has seen no inflows for the past four sessions.  investors are also awaiting Fed Chair Powell's speech
