Radio Netherland report: A jet is on standby to take Ayatollah Khamenei and his family to Russia. Jan 16th marks the 30th year anniversary of the Shah fleeing Iran.
If the Ayatollah flees, and the opposition takes control, it’ll be a major blow to Russian influence in the middle east and a major boost for US and the West. It would improve the chances for peace in the middle east, and terror premium in the price of oil would likely erode. I imagine that the stock market would rally substantially on the news. S+P 500 has pierced the 50% fibonacci resistance, and could make a vacuum move up 10% during the earnings season. And the dollar could rally 10% as well.
