WTI crude oil prices are up $1.37 to $95.21 as a mix of headlines cross on Iran.
Broad nuclear negotiations ended but other reports suggest a deal is getting closer. EU foriegn policy chief Ashton is negotiating on behalf of six world powers and Reuters reports they may meet again today.
Iran’s deputy foreign minister said the meeting was “positive” and there are “whispers that foreign ministers are making plans” to travel to Geneva for meetings.
Meanwhile, Harry Reid is making headlines saying he would support a bill that broadens the scope of oil sanctions against Iran. My take is that the threat from Reid is part of the negotiations and this could be an opportunity to sell oil but it’s all a bit murky at the moment.
