There's no deal coming

It's still ages away -- at least in diplomatic terms -- but it's tough to imagine anything but posturing in the Trump-Xi meeting in Buenos Aires Nov 30.

Today's White House advisor Larry Kudlow confirmed they will meet on the sidelines of the G20 but he downplayed any hopes for anything at all, saying he hoped they "agree on some basic principles."

Bloomberg notes that in private, Chinese officials are only hoping to stabilize the relationship or slow Trump's trade war.

With both sides digging in, what's the aim of the meeting? The best we can hope for is that it doesn't make things worse.
