Italy's FTSE MIB falls by 1.5% on the day
Not even a weaker euro is helping to lift the mood in the equities space at the moment. Eurostoxx is down by 0.3%, with Spain's IBEX the next biggest loser at 0.9%. The only decent performer is Germany's DAX and that itself sees it pretty much unchanged to yesterday's close.
There's still a bit to sort out suddenly now in Italy with questions about the ECB debt write-off and a possible rotation between Italian premiers in the works perhaps? That's leaving a bit of uncertainty that investors are not quite happy to trade on.
