The coalition government has been adamant that they will stick to the 2.4% deficit target and now with the European Commission starting to question their growth forecasts, it is even more unlikely that they will budge on this issue as it would mean that they will have to forgo some of their election campaign promises.

Looks like we're headed for a real collision course come next Tuesday.
