New UK PM Theresa May will meet German chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin
- meeting to take place on Wednesday 20th
- will discuss Brexit and other global challenges
The announcement comes from German govt spokesman Siebert who adds:
- discussions will depends on what proposals May brings with her
"It's up to the UK to suggest ways of dealing with the EU"
In a separate announcement we learn that May will travel on to France to meet President Hollande on Thursday to talk Brexit, Nice attacks and counter-terrorism.
What happened to all those " there can be no informal discussions prior to invoking Article 50" bleatings from the EU?
Funny ol' game.
Update: Seibert says there can be no EU-UK Brexit negotiations before Article 50 triggered.
So no negotiations but "discussions" are allowed lol. What a joke.
