TOKYO (MNI) – The ratio of job offers to job seekers at government
placement offices stood at a seasonally adjusted 0.83 in August,
unchanged from July, meaning there were 83 job offers for every 100
people looking for work, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said
Friday.
The job indicator had been improving every month for over a year
since rising by 0.01 point to 0.63 in June 2011 until it edged up to
0.83 in July from 0.82 in June.
The current level is the highest since 0.83 in September 2008.
