- The 'flash' was an improved 51.9
- The prior month was 51.2
Japanese manufacturing activity in August expanded at the fastest pace in seven months
- Domestic orders rose
- New orders rose to 53.4, more than a preliminary 53.2 and a final 50.9 in the previous month
- Suggests domestic demand is picking up
- New export orders was 51.6 (flash of 50.5, and 52.2 in the previous month)
- Output growth also slowed from both the preliminary reading and final number in July
Encouraging data out of Japan from this survey
