Japan’s budget sailed through parliament yesterday
- “Packed” with spending measures
Japanese PM Abe donned the rose-tinted glasses for a presser afterwards:
- “We’ll try to minimize the negative impact (of the sales tax hike to 8%) and take every measure at our disposal to bring the economy back on a recovery track quickly”
- “We’re starting to see wage increases. It is clear that a virtuous cycle has begun”
- “Bringing back a strong economy is the top priority for the Abe government”
