Kishida with some politicking ahead of the election

Well, that's no surprises as he is trying to bolster support ahead of the election at the end of the month but also considering the pandemic, another sales tax hike would be crippling for consumption activity and the economy.

Kishida had said last month ahead of the LDP election that he will not be raising the sales tax for about a decade in a promise to cushion the pandemic impact on households.
