  • Japanese firms see 2016/17 capital spending +2.5% year/year (+4.9% for the previous survey)

The Business Sentiment Index (BSI) survey conducted by the Ministry of Finance and the Economic and Social Research Institute (a part of Japan's Cabinet office) is conducted quarterly.

  • The survey measures the percentage of firms that expect the business environment to improve from the previous quarter minus the percentage that expect it to worsen.

Not generally a market-mover, but background info on Japanese business sentiment.
