  • Prior 1.2%. Revised to 1.0%
  • Ex-autos -0.1% vs +0.5% exp m/m. Prior 1.0%. Revised to 0.8%
  • Ex-autos/gas -0.2% vs +0.7% prior. Revised to 0.5%
  • Control group -0.1% vs +0.4% exp. Prior +0.7%

Crappy numbers from the US consumer and USDJPY sinks to 122.99 from 123.23

That's not a good sign for the economy and market watchers that were hopping to see last months gains hold up. Retail sales can be volatile at the best of times and with the importance of data on rate expectations this will be seen very negatively

Sales were down across the board in all but electronics/appliances and Health/Personal care
