Traders say there were some very large bids in the 1.4990s but prices have been able to ease as far as 1.4987 thus far. US equities are under strong pressure this afternoon, down 1.5% with about 15 minutes left before the close.
AUD/USD has fallen to fresh session lows at 0.9200 as a whiff of risk aversion permeates the late=afternoon air. Cable is holding 1.6300, in contrast.
