Recent commentary is suggesting that May will request a 'short extension'

May

BBC reports that May will not be asking the EU for a long Brexit delay when she formally requests that Brexit be postponed.

They say that "there is a case for giving parliament a bit more time to agree a way forward, but the people of this country have been waiting nearly three years now; they are fed up with parliament's failure to take a decision and PM shares their frustration".

Currently, May is drawing up a letter to request the EU to postpone Brexit and she will travel to Brussels tomorrow to discuss the delay options. If anything, I reckon we could see a 'short extension' with clauses inside that could lead to a longer one in the coming months.
