It doesn’t have quite the ring of Merkozy but with Sarkozy’s days numbered, Angela may be looking for a new chum. She arrives in China today to meet Premier Wen Jiabao among others through Saturday.

“The Germans will hope for more investment from China (in European bonds) but I don’t think China’s policy will change… Loud voices in China would oppose China putting more money into European bonds,” said Zhu Feng, deputy director of the Center for International and Strategic Studies at Peking University.
