A bill that has been stalled in the US Senate to label China a currency manipulator and to force the government to bring a case against them at the WTO is gaining traction once again.

Michigan Senator Stabenow is pushing to bring the bill to a vote. Geithner has been trying to dampen down protectionist impulses, preferring to take a more subtle approach with the Chinese, but so far, Geithner has nothing to show for his efforts.

All give and no take is not a popular strategy toward China on Capitol Hill, or in the country at large….
