Below is the trend in the home builders index. The index remains near the recent highs but the gain this month is the 1st in 5 months. . A reading above 50 means more respondents said conditions were good.
The NAHB reports that warmer weather is encouraging builders to start to work on more homes. There also is a low inventory of new homes on the market. A better employment picture and relatively lower rates should keep the market supported
Confidence was higher in 3 of the 4 US regions. The North East led the improvement. The West also showed improvement and the South reached a five-month high.
