Frank Elderson to join ECB governing council

Eurozone finance ministers have chosen Frank Elderson to replace Yves Mersch, who reaches the end of his mandate in December.

This is the last slot available until 2026, baring an unforeseen departure.

The Dutch haven't had a seat on the executive board since 2003. Elderson will joint Schnable, Panetta, de Guindos, Lane and President Lagarde on the six-person committee.
