Tokyo's main index continues to push higher after breaking 23,000 on Friday

  • Session high 23,842.05
  • Session low 23,672.52

The Nikkei may be closing at the lows for the day, but Japanese stocks in general are buoyed after the index broke above the 23,000 handle opening gap up today. There is also a general sense of improved market sentiment as China's retaliation to US tariffs can be considered somewhat "soft". Asian equities are all higher on the day with Chinese stocks leading gains.
