Tokyo's main index closes near flat levels on the day

Not even Abe's leadership election win is enough to cheer up Japanese stocks on the day. Asian equities are seeing rather flattish tones after the recent euphoria following the "softer" US-China trade rhetoric.
The Hang Seng and Shanghai Composite indices are also trading near unchanged levels at the moment.
