Asian equities slightly buoyed by gains in Wall Street overnight
US stocks hit record highs overnight though the S&P 500 failed to hold a close above the 3,000 level - just shy of that - but the sentiment is enough to keep Asian equities buoyed to wrap up the week. Chinese stocks are also holding higher with the Shanghai Composite up by 0.6% awaiting trade balance data, scheduled for 0700 GMT.
The more positive sentiment here should carry over to the start of the European trading but caution still remains as trade talks are still yet to make notable progress since the Trump-Xi meeting at the end of last month.
