Tokyo's main index closes lower on the day

Toyota's earnings beat estimates but that's not enough to lift the index on the day as the Nikkei falls on the day. Chinese stocks are now mixed with the Shanghai Composite lower but the Hang Seng is holding onto gains for the most part.
