Tokyo's main index closes lower in mixed session for Asian equities
Asian stocks are mixed on the session with Japanese and Chinese stocks lower on the day while equity markets in South Korea, Singapore and Indonesia are mildly higher. It's a bit of mixed sentiment as a whole for risk to begin the day with some worries about global growth still lingering, and for Japanese stocks they are not helped by poor machinery orders data earlier here.
US equity futures are also mildly higher so European equities are likely to see a flat start to the early morning later if things stay this way. Yen pairs are trading slightly lower though with USD/JPY at 108.48 currently, signalling that there are still some jitters surrounding markets to begin the day despite yesterday's decent performance in US stocks.
